Fully vaccinated with Jesus, fully protected by Psalm 91

Fully vaccinated with Jesus, fully protected by Psalm91

It has been three years past since we were in an epic pandemic of biblical proportion. As we approach the New Year and soon to bid good bye to 2023, we cannot imagine nor envisage how life would be in the coming new year. At this point in time, all aspects of normalcy in life have returned close to 90 percent prior to the advent of the dreaded Covid pandemic that struck worldwide. But it is a new normal. We can never return to life before the crisis which started towards the close of 2019.

The graphic “Fully vaccinated with Jesus, fully protected by Psalm 91” was designed in the midst of the pandemic crises. There was a lot of stress and anxiety at that time in human history which was the psychological challenges obvious during the pandemic.

The apostle in the book of Ephesians wanted his believers to be filled with Christ. To be filled with Christ, means to be in totally infused with our Lord and Savior. It means that God through Christ is the controlling influence governing our feelings, desires, thoughts, hope, relationship, words, and actions. We are still capable of feeling angry, sad, depressed etc., however, we do not allow these negativities to control us. Now, it is the Spirit of Christ that reign in us as we walk in the spirit. That to me is vaccinated with Christ, prevented from getting infected by the virus of sin.

To be fully protected by Psalm 91.  Psalm chapter 91 is a lovely and comforting chapter in the book of Psalm to the weary and oppressed group of people. Why? It is because it offers comfort and assurance of God’s protection for His people who trust is in Him. The author of this chapter was well acquainted with the importance and benefits of trusting his God. The writer began the chapter with words clad with analogies of refuge and fortress. Such analogies implied places of safety and security for those who seek shelter from physical and spiritual harm. Where can we be safe, except, in the secret place of the Most High or under the shadow of the Almighty God? The verses 3 to 10 of this chapter elaborated lucidly the specific ways and methods of God’s protection and care for His people who trusted in Him. Nothing is truer than in verse 3, His protection is on us from the deadly pestilence that stalked and terrorized us during the Covid’s times.  As we who made the Lord our dwelling place- the Most High, who is our refuge, evils shall not be allowed to befall on His people nor plague could come near our dwelling place.

Psalm 91 ended beautifully with God’s promises and blessing over the ones who love Him. His promise of deliverance and the assurance of His response in our times of trouble were comforting in the midst of the pandemic.  Many of us were spared from perish because our God Almighty declared that He will deliver us and honour us. And He will satisfy us with long life and His salvation.

We are fully vaccinated with Jesus and are fully protected by His words in Psalm 91. Amen!
