Trilogy of love eternal is my own collection of similar and related biblical story, analogy and practice; a Jewish Wedding Traditions and its Customs, Israel as God’s wife and the ecclesial image of the Church as the Bride of Christ. The illustrative and captivating writing of each of the 2 analogies and 1 practice are astonishingly similar, when we compare its context, setting, characters, plot and the themes.
So why did God, The Holy Spirit, use Jewish wedding customs and traditions to illustrate his relationship with the children of Israel? The inception of this analogy of Israel as HIS betrothed, and then later as HIS wife can be traced back to the time of the Great Exodus. It began with the journey of HIS people towards the Promised Land and ended with a declaration of divorce in the 3rd chapter in the book of Jeremiah. Their long and arduous journeys towards the Promised Land were punctuated with events and happenings that were related to the customs and traditions of a Jewish marriage. We shall see the similarities as we delve deeper in the understanding of Israel as a nation in this trilogy. Eventually, when we cross examine the similarities of the church as the bride of Christ, we will finally understand why these two stories and one practice are collectively known as the Trilogy of Love Eternal. As it covers 3 sub-tropics, there will be 3 installments to this blog. We will begin the composition of the Trilogy of Love Eternal with the customary and traditional practices of a Jewish betrothal and wedding in the next blog post. Enjoy it as the truth unfolds with each subsequent part of the story of Love Eternal of God.
