Israel, the strip of landmass along the coast of Mediterranean sea, was a dream to visit since young. Heard so many biblical stories of the land filled with “Milk and Honey” in Sunday School. The wonderful miracles that were performed by our Lord Jesus Christ while HE was on earth doing HIS Father’s works. Many of my friends, relatives and “church siblings” have seen and been to Israel. I was desperate to see it one day.
The beautiful country and the rich heritage of the Jewish people and their God, which we heard and came to know from the bible, made it more alluring and mystical. I want to see, hear and feel the essence of the Land that Abba Father loves so dearly. HIS stubborn and reckless love for the Jewish race and the whole world would eventually cost HIS dearly beloved son’s life. Our Lord Jesus Christ knew the cost that HE has to pay, willingly submitted to the Father by stating, I quote, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of HIM that sent me.” John 6:38
By HIS great Mercy and Grace, I went with my wife Jean to Israel in 2018. We traveled the places that our Lord went, touch the majestic wall of the city of Jerusalem, sailed across the idyllic Lake of Galilee and stood at the mount of Golgotha, as if I was there when the Romans crucified our Lord and Savior. Such immense love and emotions were present even after two thousand years had passed. I will try to relate more in my next post, but look at the photos that were taken during our “pilgrimage” to the Holy Land of Israel. Enjoy it!
