How Could God?

Why is God not intervening into human disaster to prevent loss of lives?
Some claimed that if God is love, He should not allow tragedies, disasters and calamities from happening.

My thoughts are such:

The world is in its fallen state because of sin, it cannot be reversed.

He will and would never interfere with humans who have become self-centered and corrupted through the destructive nature of sins. We do not seek God. It is God who seeks us. He left the ninety-nine, to look for the missing one.

He provided a solution through His Son, Jesus.

Like with ecosystem, wildlife and nature, we do not interfere with the balance, which will be detrimental to its existence.

The course for men and the sinful fallen world must be completed in order to usher in the perfect millennia under the rightful owner of Christ.

In disobedience, sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve should have both die but the mercy of God is greater than His wrath. God provided forgiveness and remission of sins by clothing both sinners with skin of an animal. Indirectly, a sacrificial act of remission for sin was done despite not recorded in the book of Genesis. Although sin was temporarily removed from the guilty pairs but the earth was cursed there forth. Garden of Eden was removed or shielded from existence by God with the intention to prevent sin from obtaining immortality, through the guilty pairs by eating from the Tree of Live.

He did neither in the past, nor the present and will certainly never interfere with man free will to decide between good and evil. But what God did was to provide a way for atonement of our sin once Adam and Eve faltered. Later down the turbulent and inexorable passage of time, He prepared an ultimate plan for humankind salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

To accuse that God does not care. He does not stop tragedies, disasters and calamities from happening are inaccurate. In the scripture, He emphatically stated that He have no pleasure in the death of anyone…, in Ezekiel 18:32. There are numerous testaments, countless experiences of Christians protected or avoided from tragedies, disasters and calamities. They survived to share their remarkable testimonies of God’s mercy and interventions. As children of the most high, He promised and assured us His children, our lives are under His unfaltering protection. Similarly, there are at least 25 bible verses from both testaments to affirm His commitments. So, what is the key to dwelling in the shelter of the almighty and be protected from evil? The answer lies with our relation to Him as Children of God.

God is love and the unseen Deity was personified in the person of Jesus Christ. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and John with the rest of the apostles have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. The late Reverend, Dr. Billy Graham wrote, “God’s Word came to us in the form of a baby who was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. The message from God in Heaven declared, I am sending My only Son to you and His name will be Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins (Matthew 1: 21). Christ not only came in the flesh, but He can live in you. What a revelation! He came in the flesh, perhaps, as a human He can empathise humanity better.

Based on that above revelation, our accusations of an unyielding and apathetic God have to be demolished. As God, He is love and becoming human, He wanted to be subjected to human’s frailties besides, coming as the perfect Lamb of God for our redemption through His blood. What could be the better way to understand and emphatise His creation than living as a human among us? No one would go to that length of trouble if Love was not present!

Our minds must be put into perspective, and understand that this present earth is cursed and in its fallen state. There is nothing that can be done to reverse the destructive effect of sins. What Christ did for us by redeeming us through His precious bloods, His cannot do for the accursed earth resulted from the day disobedience came. This present earth ruled by sins will be destroyed with fire in 2 Peter 3: 7. A new Earth and Heaven will replace the existing ones for God’s chosen peoples who are redeemed by the bloods of His Son. What a day that would be?

We can understand now why God will not intervene into current woes that humans faced. His personal assurances of protection in the bible are only applicable for his chosen peoples saved through Grace. Anyway, the opponents of the Truth will never believe nor accept its promises but will still question and accuse God for not intervening into humans’ tragedies, epidemics disasters and calamities. They only want an end to the problems but not the solution provider, which is God’s grace and salvation. That is their haughty and assumed entitlements. In Romans 8: 28, we are told that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. So, do not just want solutions but seek first the solution provider which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

For a healthy ecosystem, wildlife and nature, we are told not to interfere with and upset the balance, which will be detrimental to its existence. In the same vein, if God is to intervene into every aspect of human’s woes and travails, would He not perpetuate and prolong the pains of the sinful state of this fallen earth. Sin must be dealt with and the only way to do that is to have a new earth and heaven to usher in the golden age of Christ’s reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. So, the present earth must be replaced. The fallen and sin dominated earth will have to run its course and both will be destroyed. Period!

We are tired of the bad and tragic news in the media. It seems like the intensity and frequency of such reporting are increasing as we approach the end of time. Jesus did warn us and prepare us to be vigilant as the days grow evils. In Romans 8: 17, Paul stated that the earth is groaning, moaning, and experiencing a common calamity. It is travailing as in childbirth. As with all the birth pangs, something beautiful and good will come out of it. Chest up! Fellow brothers and sisters, we have been foretold and forewarned of these happenings, do not be alarmed. The end is coming; something beautiful will come out of its travails. The course for unrepentant men and the sinful fallen world must be completed in order to usher in the new perfect millennia under the rightful owner of Christ.

In revelation 22: 20 Jesus said, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come Lord!
