Good day, people! It’s another beautiful day that God has given us to enjoy.
I thought it was time to repost my earlier post on the big “Why”. Why am I doing what I am doing? I will share my thoughts and elaborate more on wood crafts with Christian messages, T-shirts with bible verses, or even peripherals such as mugs & etc. In addition, I would like to mention too on my recent love affair with writing. Something that was very difficult for me in my early days. It is now still, so pardon my literary skill which is amateurish and maybe incoherent at times. Recently, I started a blog on my website. In this blog page, I write on the beauty and amazing love of God for this world through Jesus Christ our Lord. I will also share my thoughts on bible verses through writing and graphics. Writing happened to be not my forte. Especially for someone like me, whose educational level can be summed up to 2 GCE ‘A’ level passes. Designing and arts & crafts are something that is within my passion. So, I will utilise my strength to complement my weakness, which is literary skill.
So, to begin, I have always admired people on pulpit that share wonderful and well-crafted sermon or bible teachings. This is something that is not for everyone, certainly, not for me. That person, besides being charismatic, needs the skills to arouse interest and captivate attention from the audience with their messages. A great and good sermon and sharing require a lot of time and preparation before it can be preached. The preparation and time of research and reference from the bible for materials can be arduous. That is why the preacher needs the presence of our Grand Teacher, the Holy Spirit to assist in the preparation. The third person of the Godhead is the right source of reference to talk about the wonderful person Jesus Christ. Over and above, the person needs to be bold and not stage fright to fumble his way through the torturous hours for his listeners. I am that person.
Therefore, if you are not cut out for that, do other things that will still have the same impact on mass audience and captivation. That is the reason why I decided at this part of my life journey to start this adventure. I have more time now at this junction of my life’s journey. My responsibilities as parents are lesser with the children all grown up. As a retiree, I do not have to manage a hectic work schedule and workload within the nine-to-five job as before. The time is all mines now to utilise and expend. God has given me talents on Arts and Designs, why not use it for HIS glory. I have loved arts and designs since I was a kid, and spent most of my adult and working life doing what I love. Saw God’s blessing and favors in my career. At the same time, I won awards and recognition for the job that I loved. Now, I really want and hope that I can share the message of salvation, the Father’s Love for the world and a savior who took our place on the cross. What can be the best way to do it?
Combining both passions as one and with the desire to do something for God, I guessed this is the way to go. Tell me otherwise. Yea, there are thousands of ways to do and serve God in this world but I still think this is the one for me. I am not rejecting other ways but my strong belief is that one can only do well if he or she has passion for the things, subjects or works.
Writing, creating and designing with the Words of God needs my partner, God the Holy Spirit, before anything can be satisfactory to the senses. It must carry the essence of the message and the intention of the writer and designer to the audience. Whatever the intentions, be it to inspires, saves, heals and restores. That needs skills. It can be humorous too but when it needs to be poignant, with regards to one’s salvation, it must be uncompromising. That needs skills and talents, not easy to manage. That is why I have chosen my business partner carefully. With God on my side, who can be against me? Romans 8: 31
Writing is not for me but I was amazed that I wrote this much content in my blogs to share my thoughts and hopes for the journey that I have embarked on. Guessed, no looking back as in the old hymn,” I have decided to follow Jesus”. Yes, only those of my generation can relate to this beautiful hymn. It is a lovely song about one’s commitment and determination to follow Christ to the very end.
